Visiting Boston

For folks who are making the trek out to the East Coast (looking at you MSP!) we wanted to share some of our favorites sites and bites throughout the Greater Boston area to explore during your stay. If anyone is thinking of making a trek up to Salem for their 400th year celebrations, make sure to book in advance!

SoWA Open Market

South End

Smack in the heart of the arts district of Boston, SoWA is a really active vintage, local artist, and street food market you'll want to wander through. You can also take a peek at the chalkboard mural that was done by thecollab!

Boston Public Library

Copley Square

This is always a stop on our list whenever we have friends and family visiting. You'll want to start at the newer end near the Boston Marathon finish line and then work your way to the older portion. Make sure to check out Bates Hall and the courtyard!

Brighton Emporium

A really cool vintage and local artists brick-and-mortar right down the street from the venue! They have really nice ceramics and handmade prints that make great gifts for anyone who is house-sitting for you!

David's favorite restaurant in the city, hands down. If you've visited us before, odds are he's taken you there. No reservations so you'll want to plan on a wait, but the johnnycake and raw bar alone is worth it.

Do you love video games? How about grilled cheese? Throw a cocktail into the mix and that's pretty much what this place is all about! Step through the walk-in cooler of Roxy's Grilled Cheese and your plunked into the city's best barcade.

Sarma

Winter Hill

We would eat here every week if we could! The food is shareable and surprising, definitely pulling from flavors David had growing up. Reservations are hard to manage, but walk-in bar seats right at 5 are the way to go.

Bar Mezzana

South End

A really great restaurant that we are sad to say is closing at the end of this year. Worth stopping in for the eggplant and feta dip and a bowl of cacio e pepe alone, though everything is is excellent on the menu!

Vivi's Bubble Tea

Brighton

Definitely the best spot in the city and it is right up the street from the venue! Jaimie will find any excuse to stop there after a concert, running city errands, or working on a mural project. Passion tea, 30% sugar, regular ice is the way to go. You can thank her later.

Cute neighborhood nook that has David's favorite ramen spot, great pastry shops, Jaimie's favorite bookstore, The Brookline Booksmith, and the Coolidge Corner Theatre that runs midnight showings of The Room...'oh hai Mark.'
